Time to Let Go!

Happy Friday!

Thanks to those who were able to attend our inaugural launch of the Monthly Thursday Club zoom meeting!  Last minute I decided to reach out to my friend Susan Wheeler – who just finished writing her first book The Lemonade Diet – (available on Amazon soon) – to see if she could join me to share her story.

GRAB THE REPLAY HERE

Susan’s story isn’t uncommon – but it is incredibly inspiring.  There were numerous things that could have held her back from greatness, held her back from living her life to the fullest – but they didn’t.

You see – as Susan noted – most people let things from their past stop them instead of letting it go.  What’s past is past…what is forward is the future.  Don’t let your past define you.

As my bud (I wish!) Gary John Bishop would say – we are living the exact life we want.  If you want a different life – you need to change what you are doing and make that life.

Susan went on to say that many people give up because change is hard.  IT IS.  You get all excited  until the hard work starts or you don’t see instant results.  Hello January 1 gym memberships – right?  Damn New Year’s resolutions anyway!

Here’s my challenge to you as we wrap up Lesson ONE on finding your purpose.

  • Buy a Journal and write in it daily – thoughts, frustrations, inspirations – doodles.
  • Be grateful! Each day write down 10 things you are grateful for and WHY.
  • Take time for self-care – meditation & reflection
  • Focus on what you want versus what you do not have
  • Be aware of self-limiting beliefs – using phrases such as “I Can’t” will derail you
  • Remember – the only constant is CHANGE. If you don’t change you will stay the same. Some of the change will be uncomfortable but worth it in the end.
  • Honor YOU. Don’t compare yourself to others – know that this journey is YOUR life no one else’s.

What I love about coaching is that it’s all about looking forward and embracing the POSSIBILITIES  it’s not about dwelling on your past.  It’s over.  So what if you screwed up – no one but YOU really cares.

You are your own worst enemy – stop it.

If you haven’t done the homework – go dive in.  this stuff really matters.  If you want to have your best life – you need to figure out what makes you happy.

Don’t be afraid to try something new – challenge yourself to find new paths – new adventures.

Once you start to be open about your perceived “OMG” moments – you’ll find that there are millions of others who have probably gone down the same path, so you aren’t alone.  More importantly you’ll find that a weight will be lifted off your chest and you can move on.

Remember – it’s not about what happens in your life that defines you – it’s how you react to it.

Have an amazing Friday and amazing weekend – see y’all next week.  I’m headed to Texas for some sunshine!
