[ThursdayClub] SMH – I just don’t KNOW!
Happy FriYAAAAY,
It’s been one of those wild weeks – hasn’t it? If you caught my email yesterday (Not on the list? GASP – sign up here) – you know what I mean. From the Hollis divorce announcement to not knowing if COVID is getting better or worse, if kids are going to school in the fall or not – the list goes on.
So much information – and how do you sift through it all to determine what is right, what is wrong, who is truthful, and who is a big ole faker – ok maybe not complete faker but maybe they just aren’t that authentic.
The answer leads us to Napoleon Hill’s last two principles
#12 – The Brain. It’s all about associating yourself with smart people and learning from them, AND actually using your brain to logically think. (For many – the COVID answer is whatever the latest post on their Facebook feed told them SMH – big sigh). Find smart people who are experts in the subject matter you need to grow in. Mind meld Spock style – all that brilliant knowledge right out of them.
#13 – Trust your Gut. I always align this with #7 and Decisiveness. At some point, you just have to trust your gut and make a damn decision. You’ve done the homework, you aren’t overthinking it – you are making a decision and you are going to TRUST that you made the right answer. Will every decision be the right one? Hell no – but the more you learn about yourself and your strengths and weaknesses the stronger your Spidey Senses will be ( A little Spiderman humor there).
Many of us are in transition right now. If not in transition, in huge flux – HUGE flux. You don’t know what is happening tomorrow and for many of you, it’s just about surviving. Flight or Fight is on high alert. Right?
Don’t let this freeze you.
Don’t put off major life decisions – or plans just because of COVID. Planned on getting married – just do it. Hell, Rachael and Dave did the biggest shocker divorce announcement of the pandemic. Oy Vey…. my point is if you don’t trust your gut – no one will trust you.
It all starts from within – seriously, go look in the mirror and say I trust.
If you haven’t gone through all of Napoleon Hill’s 13 principles do it.
Write down each one in your journal.
Actually take action on each – seriously do it (pretty please with sugar on top and one of those nice red maraschino cherries).
Review the list daily until you REALLY understand them and start using the principles in your everyday life.
I know we are in crazy times. You 100% have the power to react in any way you want to it.
It’s not like my life is unicorns and fairy dust every single day. Hell, Tuesday I was in a complete funk – as in grey cloud hanging over my head funk. It happens to everyone – but and this is important…
You need to recognize your Kryptonite. You have to recognize your weaknesses AND your strengths. You need to KNOW who you are on a deep level – and then trust your gut.
I would love for you to comment in the forums – what’s your biggest takeaway from Napoleon – perhaps your favorite principle?
